We place a great deal of importance on your welfare and want your experience at the International Educational Centre to be a happy and successful one.
It is an exciting and interesting experience to be studying in a different country, but it is possible that you will also find things confusing or challenging at times.
You may feel homesick or experience other problems, so there is always someone available for you to talk to.
The following services are available:
- Induction/Orientation Program will help you get to know your teachers and fellow students and will enable you to feel relaxed and settled during the first few days.
- Personal Tutor will regularly spend time with you, discussing your progress and other educational issues.
- International Office can provide you with information on the issues that affect you as an International Student, such as health issues, insurance, work and accommodations. The office is open to students from Monday to Thursday, from 10am
to 2.30pm. Students can also make appointments outside of these times to discuss specific issues. The staff will do all they can to provide you with the information that you need to make the most out of your stay in Krakow and to support you with any practical challenges that you may encounter.
- Accommodations
Our Office can organize accommodations for you before you arrive and provide support if there are any problems during your stay.
- Social Life
A number of social activities are organized for international students throughout the year, most of which are free. From October to June there are normally 1 or 2 events each month including trips to Wieliczka and Auschwitz-Birkenau, local museums and sites of artistic or cultural interest,
an ‘International Christmas Dinner’ and social evenings out in Krakow. Social activities are a great way to make new friends and get to know Polish and European culture.
You can also obtain a Student’s Card, which allows you to get 50% discounts on buses and trams, as well as 37% discount on train tickets.
